It is with much sadness we announce The Balti House is closing its doors after 28 years in Formby

It is with much sadness that we announce that the very popular Indian restaurant, The Balti House is closing down this weekend.

After twenty eight years of serving amazing Indian cuisine, the Balti House on School Avenue in Formby will close its doors to the public forever on Sunday 21st May 2023.

The Balti House is an excellent Indian Restaurant which has been operating in Formby Village for the past 28 years and like any other business, it has been struggling with high Energy Costs and ever rising bills. The building is over 300 years old and not energy efficient.

Owner for more than 28 years, Ali said: "I am very sad to leave but, with everything being so expensive and bills getting higher, it's impossible to keep my prices down. I want to thank all my customers for being the most lovely, loyal customers over this 28 years and I will miss you all. Thankyou all so much for your amazing custom, thank you."

We are all very sad at this news and wish the owners and the staff good luck wherever they move onto in their future. Very sad news.

The Village Balti House building was built in the early 19th Century. This small cottage was actually the local School for the youngsters of Formby, back then, there was one teacher for a class of twelve children.
