The Legends Tour is coming to Formby Golf Club and Formby Ladies Golf Club this summer

The return of over 50’s professional golf to the area sees the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship being played at Formby Golf Club from Thursday July 29th to Sunday August 1st.

Many well known golfing names will be on show including European and PGA Tour winners, Major champions, Ryder Cup players and Captains. The tournament was last held in 2019 at The London Club where ex Ryder Cup player Philip Price secured a fine victory.

Founded in 1884, Formby Golf Club runs through mature sand dunes and pinewoods and boasts amazing scenery, surprising tranquillity and a charming clubhouse. A club steeped in history, it’s easy to see why these world-class players want to take on the challenge of this unforgettable course.

Prior to the tournament, on Tuesday 27th July The Legends Tour will be hosting a Championship Pro Am day with Wednesday 28th July being the Celebrity Pro Am day which will include well known personalities such as AP McCoy, Champion jockey 20 times during his illustrious career, Dan Walker, host of BBC Breakfast and a number of local high profile sportsmen and women.

Thursday to Saturday will see what many have described as ‘the greatest amateur experience in golf’. The exclusive opportunity to play with Ryder Cup Captains and Major Championship winners will be offered as part of the Alliance Pro Am where amateur golfers will immerse themselves in the entire tournament experience, playing alongside their idols under tournament conditions.
