Taj-Deen Abdulai made it 3 nil after an assist by Freddie Garvey. A Luca Massey corner just before half time was headed home by Freddie Garvey. Taj-DeenAbdulai made it 5 nil immediately after the interval which was set up by Dylan Madeley. Northfield then mustered a defiant three goal reply to make for a nervy finish for FJSC. Man of the Match was Taj-Deen Abdulai.
On Sunday FJSC Under 15’s played Warner Colts Athletic on a very muddy pitch in the Tuebrook League. Warner Colts led 1 nil at half time. FJSC eventually drew level when Thomas Prior scored with a thirty yard free kick. The Under 15’s kept plugging away and finally scored the all important second goal when Archie Ogden played in Berat Ulusoywho finished in style. In an exciting finish Warner Colts had a great chance to equalise in the final minute but the shot went wide. Joint Players of the Match were Luca Massey and Freddie Garvey.
FJSC Under 13 Whites made some small errors in the first half in their match against TQ Roma and consequently conceded five goals without reply. The boys came out in the second half more positive and started to create chances and cleared the ball from defence more effectively. Evan Meehan slotted the ball home for a well-deserved goal and chances for Patrick Bodziany and Franek Banas went close. A couple more goals were scored by TQ but the FJSC lads were very impressive in the second half. Man of the match was Dylan Hyslop who some excellent slide tackles and was never quiet in organising and encouraging his team mates.
It was the top of the table clash for second in the league FJSC Under 13 Black Saturday team and league leaders Tower Hill. Unfortunately
it proved a test too far for the Blacks on a cold and wet Saturday morning. A bare-bones eleven players available made the task even tougher but the 2-8 score line didn’t reflect just how close the game was.
Things were undone in the first half when the team just didn’t get the rub of the green in attack whilst the opposition seemed just a bit more clinical in front of goal. Ben Harris did however manage to keep up his scoring streakwith a goal.
The second half was much closer with HarryRedhead netting with a rare header for FJSC’s second goal. The Bananas Tattoo, Formby,Player of the Match was goalkeeper Ben Gregory who made some great saves on a difficult day.
FJSC Under 13 Blacks played away at Southport Hesketh and won 12 nil on a very heavy pitch. The boys played well with Ben Harris
scoring six goals. Lucas Lewis and SebStevens scored two goals each. Harry Redhead and William Redhead completed the scoring with one goal each. Man of the Match was Ben Harris. Special mention goes to SebStevens who played well throughout andAlastair Bosenquet who had a strong debut. Seb Burdett-Clarke, Joe Tucker and HenryWynne in defence helped keep Southport Hesketh at bay.
FJSC Under 12 Black Saturday team started in a fast and furious fashion against Nethertonwith four quick-fire goals inside the first
seven minutes. Charlie Richardson scored twice with Luke Millington and Caden Walkeralso getting a goal each. FJSC continued to press forward and two well-taken goals from Isaac Jones took the half time score to 6 nil. After the break Charlie Richardson added another two goals to his tally with Ellis Coyne also adding a goal to make the final score 9 nil. It was a great overall team performance over to stay top of the Premier Division with tougher games to come.
FJSC Under 12 Black Sunday team went into the game against Southport Trinity Blueknowing it would be a tough game at the top of the table. FJSC continued from Saturday and had another fast start scoring twice in the first ten minutes after a great finish from Charlie Richardson and a penalty from Caden Walker. Trinity fought their way back into the game with two goals to level the score at 2-2 by half time.
FJSC came out the second half stronger and a great free-kick from Louis O’Connor saw FJSC take the lead again. Southport Trinity then dug deep and pushed on to equalise before scoring three quick-fire goals at the end of the game to make the final score 6-3 to Trinity. There is plenty for FJSC to think about from this game and they are still in with a great chance of challenging at the top.
FJSC Under 12 Whites made the short trip to Crosby Stuart who had started the season well. In a scrappy opening to the game hampered by the weather neither team created much but it was against the run of play that Crosby Stuartscored two quick goals to take the lead at half time. Crosby started the second half stronglyand further extended their lead to 3 nil. The deficit seemed to spark FJSC into life and in a tremendous fifteen minute spell turned the game on its head with goals from Zac Hooson-Jones, two from Albie Salters and MatthewCrutchley to lead 4-3 heading into stoppage time. Despite heroics from Harry Jones,Crosby Stuart equalised with the last kick of the game which, in fairness to Crosby Stuart, was a fair reflection on the game overall.
FJSC Under 11 Whites Saturday team played JN Select and produced a good performance. Diego Funes-Cervera scored a hat trick and there was one goal each for Zac McHugh and Zac Cooper. Man of the Match was Quinn McAuley.
FJSC Under 11 Blacks were in action against Claybrow Milan in the Winter Championship and gained three points for the first time in the division. Man of the Match was James Coulton who scored one of the goals and also provided three assists.
FJSC Under 11 Reds played Southport Hesketh at Deansgate on a drizzly grey Sunday afternoon. The match was very competitive with the Reds producing their best performance of the season so far. Man of the Match was Tom Murphy with a fine hat trick after an impressive display up front alongside Chase Lowen who also got on to the score sheet with a cool finish slotted into the bottom corner. James Hannan bagged a brace to complete the scoring with two rocket shots from corner kicks expertly supplied by Isaac Pepper.
In a great team performance all the players deserve credit with Mason Todd and Oliver Crouch standing strong in full back positions, Campbell Woodcock and Haden Radcliffe growing in confidence in their midfield roles and Brett McKeown always dependable in goal. The Reds tired towards the end due to having no available substitutes and Southport came back to share the twelve goals in the highly entertaining match. If the effort and desire put in by all the Reds players continues it bodes well for the remainder of the season.
FJSC Under 10 Blacks played against a good Southport Town team. After conceding a few early goals the boys did well to get themselves back into the game with a great headed goal scored by Isaac Melton from a lovely Jack Hansen corner. The same combination almost scored again with a second half corner but the post got in the way. The memorable moment of the match was Idris Jones picking himself up from being fouled and from the resultantfree kick from just over the halfway linescoring with a shot which flew into the top corner of the Southport net. It rounded a solid battling display from Idris but Isaac Meltonpicked up the deserved Man of the Match award for his goal and solid defending.
New team FJSC Under 10 Gold gained their first win of the season against Crosby Stuart with an unexpected victory. The Gold team played with new tactics taking things back to basics starting from the goalkeeper through to the defenders and down the line into the box to finish which paid off for the team.
The first half started well for FJSC in the opening fifteen minutes but Crosby Stuart scored first. This however didn’t faze the Goldteam and soon made the score line equal with Mason Davies scoring. Crosby Stuart kept FJSC on their toes and scored their second goal before half time.
FJSC went into the second half determined and confident which paid off. Mason Davies scored again from a great assist from Peter McCormick which was followed by a Paolo Raffo goal which gave FJSC the lead. With everyone playing well Mason Davies scored his hat trick goal from a free kick outside the box which made sure of this much deserved and long awaited win. Congratulations is extended to all the jubilant FJSC Gold players – Jacob Cargill, Ethan Carr, Mason Davies, Joss Lowen, Lewis McColl, Peter McCormick, Skyla Newell and Paolo Raffo.
On a cold, wet morning FJSC Under 9 Blacksteam faced a challenging test against a well-drilled and experienced visiting Crosby Stuart. Despite the relentless rain and tough conditions, the young players displayed incredible resilience and spirit throughout the match.
From the opening whistle, the visitors took control, showcasing slick passing, clinical finishing, and strong teamwork. They capitalized on their experience, finding the back of the net consistently in the first half. The home side, though outmatched, refused to give up, battling for every ball and showing flashes of bravery in defence.
The second half was much the same, with the visitor’s dominating possession and adding to their tally. Yet, FJSC’s grit and determination shone through as the boys continued to pressforward, cheered on by their supportive parents and coaches.
Although the final score line was stark, it was a testament to the home team's character that they played to the final whistle. For these young players, the experience will surely serve as a stepping stone for growth in future games.
In the return fixture of FJSC Under 8’s Blacks first ever competitive game at the start of this season the Blacks visited Woodlands to see how they would measure up against theestablished Redgate Rovers Greens. It was a good competitive game with the hosts taking the lead but the Blacks grew into the game which eventually paid dividends with a cool finish from a tight angle for Sam O’Brien from an exquisite long range pass from Teddy Ball.
Isaac Murphy again showed his versatility with good saves in goal followed by a solid second half outfield display. Oscar Craven again improved his defensive credentials along with Ted Middleton’s tireless endeavour up front. Eddie Bell and Harley Rea came off the bench and played very well and shared the Man of the Match award for their efforts. All in all it was an improved result from the first game of the season which shows the progress being made by the team.
FJSC Under 8 Whites started well against Southport Athletic Oranges with captain Logan Haggart leading the way with some great pressing which led to him opening the scoring. Man of the Match, Thomas Northadded a second to give FJSC a 2 nil lead but Southport scored with a great lob after a number of very good saves from Luke Clarke. Maxwell Rathbone again impressed at the back.
Franklin Chignell continued his goalscoring form and added a third but Southport fought back strongly and ended up taking a 4-3 lead with just ten minutes to go. Ben Donnellycame off the bench with
striker instincts after following up an effort from Luke Clarke to score the equaliser. Thomas North who played the second half in goal took a long goal kick which found ArchieJones who collected the ball nicely and scored the winner to make it five consecutive wins for the team.
FJSC Under 7 Blacks played a strong Southport FC side at home. Cole Jones nearly scored early on from a great Harry Brown cross and goalkeeper Albee Fairhurst was also called into action early making some fine saves. Despite this and an excellent first half defensive display from Theo Thomas, FJSCwere trailing at half time.
In the second half Max Healey and Tayo Popoola kept running and tackling to try and get a goal, which did eventually come for Harry Brown with an accurate finish. Teddy Marron and Ollie Jones both went close toscoring a second goal. There was no debate about Player of the Match as Albee Fairhurst had another barnstormer in goal, getting compliments from the opposition parents and even going close to scoring from his long kicks.
