Spring has officially arrived in Formby, bringing longer days, blooming flowers, and a renewed sense of energy in the community. As the daffodils and crocuses burst into life along the village pathways, the changing season can be seen everywhere—from the National Trust woodlands to the dunes along Formby Beach. Local parks and gardens are now filled with early blossoms, and the longer evenings provide more opportunities for strolls along the coast or visits to Formby’s bustling high street.
Spring isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a feeling. Birds are singing louder, the air is fresher, and the town is beginning to shake off the chill of winter.
Clocks Spring Forward on March 30th
Another sign that spring is well underway is the upcoming clock change. On Sunday, March 30, the clocks will spring forward by one hour at 1am. giving us lighter evenings and even more time to enjoy the outdoors.
While we may lose an hour of sleep that night, the extra daylight in the evenings will be welcomed by those who love sunset walks on Formby Beach, after-school playtime for the kids, and longer afternoons in the garden.
Spring in the Community
With warmer days ahead, Formby is set to come alive with spring events, local markets, and outdoor activities. From families enjoying the woodlands to people gathering in cafés and beer gardens, there’s a renewed sense of togetherness in the air.
As we step into this season of growth and renewal, it’s the perfect time to embrace everything Formby has to offer. Whether it’s spotting the first bluebells, listening to the dawn chorus, or simply enjoying longer days with friends and family, spring is a time to reconnect with nature and each other.
