Parents can download a Formby Junior Sports Club membership form for 2024-2025 from the club website formbyjuniorsportsclub.co.uk which can be found in the club document section.  Alternatively contact Club Chairman Frank Rourke at stellathecat4@gmail.com who will send you a form to complete and return and provide any necessary additional information.   Alternatively parents can bring their children along on the day.

For new members, if parents wish a two session ‘try and see if their child enjoys it time ‘ before paying the annual club membership this is quite in order.  The annual subscription is  £25 for four year olds and Reception,  £45 for Year One’s and £65 for all children in Year 2 and above.  All that is needed initially is for a membership form to be completed.

Remember Inter Club football is open to all, as soon as a child becomes four years of age.  They do not have to be in Reception yet.

Just because FJSC does not, at present have a Girls’ Section it does not mean that girls cannot play football at the club.  Girls wishing to play football with the boys are very welcome to do so.  In fact a number of the famous Lionesses started off their football playing with the boys.

FJSC REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

All twenty-two FJSC Representative teams will start their new season with opening fixtures for the 2024-25 season this coming weekend on Saturday 14TH September and Sunday September 15th.  For a full fixture list see the FJSC website.

FJSC Under 14s Blacks made their debut in the Skelmersdale Junior Football League ) last Sunday and had a tough start as they faced Mags Boca Juniors. Mags had most of the possession in the first half as FJSC held a good shape and defended well. Riley Higgs made some excellent saves, but Mags got the breakthrough with a well worked goal and then added a second with a long range effort. FJSC pulled one back with their best move of the game, as the midfield exchanged passes between themselves and then released Abe Rice, who still had a lot to do to break clear of the defence and beat the keeper. A set piece brought a third goal for Mags just before half time. The second half followed a similar pattern but as the game wore on, spaces opened up and allowing Mags to score several more and the match finished 10-1.

There were some strong performances despite the score line, but Player of the Match went to Ben Cargill who was making his first appearance for the team and who put in an excellent shift in the heart of midfield.

Many of the FJSC Representative teams played friendly matches at the weekend or had training sessions.  For many of the teams the boys received their new sponsored kits for the first time and were thrilled.

FJSC Under 9 Blacks wasted no time and quickly proudly posed for a squad photograph (see above) in their new shirts kindly sponsored by PICOW.
