National Trust Formby have now completed the felling of 100 trees that were leaning, dead or dying
National Trust Formby have now completed the tree felling that started at the beginning of March.
The tree safety work began on Tuesday 2nd March. A spokesperson from National Trust said: “We’ll be working with a contractor to fell several large trees at Victoria Road. At times we'll need to close the path network around the downward slope by the information trailer.”
Last weekend the work was completed. A spokesperson said: “We’ve completed tree safety inspections and felled around 100 leaning, dead or dying trees.”
“Removing these trees from popular visitor areas stops them falling unexpectedly. We often leave part of the trunk or timber where it falls to create habitats for insects and birds.”
“Thanks for your support and understanding whilst the works were carried out.”
