Light up a Life this Christmas

St. Joseph’s Hospice will be hosting its annual Light up a Life event this weekend and is looking forward to welcoming families back in to the hospice’s woodland gardens.

Light up a Life takes place on Sunday 5th December from 4pm and is for anyone who would like to celebrate the lives of those they love at Christmas, to say thank you or mark a special occasion or birth.

During the service, children from St Mary’s Prep in Crosby will sing festive carols and mince pies and hot drinks will be available. The hospice will also switch on the lights of its Light up a Life Christmas tree, with each light dedicated to someone special.

Maxine Armstrong, head of fundraising at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said: “Light up a Life is free to attend and you don't need to book but please come dressed up nice and warm to enjoy some Christmas carols, mince pies and watch as we switch on the lights on our Light up a Life Christmas tree

“There is still time to dedicate a light on the Light up a Life Christmas tree in memory of a loved one, to mark a special celebration or birth, or to say thank you to someone special.

“We are delighted to invite families back to the hospice garden for this year’s Light up a Life service. This event means so much to our local community and to our patients, staff, volunteers, and it will be wonderful to be able to support each other in person once again.”

Families can dedicate a light to a loved one by completing a dedication form, which is available to download at www.stjhospice.org.uk. Forms are also available to pick up directly from the hospice or from any St. Joseph’s Hospice charity shop.
