The Lifeboat Road boardwalk will be closed from 24th June to 8th July for essential repairs.
A spokesperson from National Trust Formby said: “The team will be carrying out essential repairs to the landward side of the boardwalk at Lifeboat Road during this time.”
Here’s what you need to know;
🔨 These repairs are being prioritised as we know how important this route is for everyone.
🪵 Rotten timber will be replaced making the boardwalk safer, more robust and less bumpy.
⏰ We estimate the repairs will take 3 weeks, hopefully less.
⛔️Sections of the boardwalk will be fenced off and closed during the repairs.
➡️Diversion routes clearly marked by yellow topped posts.
🚶🏼♀️ The boardwalk ramp from the beach will remain open throughout but diversion routes to get to this section will be through soft sand and over the dunes.
🐶 Please keep dogs under close control whilst work is being carried out.
“A special shout out to the fantastic volunteers who will be helping the team with this work.”
”We’re sorry for any temporary impact this may have on your plans to visit. We’ll keep you updated on progress. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
