It seems unlikely that the Victoria Road Level Crossing will be open before Christmas
The level crossing on Victoria Road in Formby has been closed for months now with no sign of it re-opening. Next Monday ‘at the earliest’ said United Utilities which, if that did happen, the crossing would be open in time for Christmas holidays but that doesn’t look like the case explains MP Bill Esterson after talks with Network Rail and United Utilities.
Bill Esterson MP said: “United Utilities told me they would start work yesterday or today, Wednesday 7th December, on the collapsed sewer on Victoria Road at Freshfield station.”
”I am now told it will be Monday at the earliest, and United Utilities are still waiting for some safety sign-offs from Network Rail. I have written to the chief executive of Network Rail today to ask him to ensure that all sign-offs are complete by Monday so the work can begin.”
”I am told the road will be re-opened 5-7 days after work starts. It is unacceptable that the road has been closed for so long. I have expressed my concern on behalf of people in #Formby at the ridiculous delays in carrying out the work.”
