Frank Rourke's Report from Formby Junior Sports Club

Formby Junior Sports Club’s sixty-third season came to a close at the weekend. Inter Club members enjoyed their last session and some of the younger Representative teams played in a tournament at Southport F.C.s Pure Stadium. Football was help on twenty-nine weekends at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields with only four postponements due to the weather which was the best for many years. The eight month long season has been a great success with many new members joining at every age group.

Now FJSC will immediately start to prepare for the new 2022-23 football season which will commence again at the beginning of September.

Throughout the season on the FJSC website all appearances and goals scored have been recorded for every boy playing in the Inter Club Section and for every boy playing for a FJSC Representative team.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT SEASON

All parents of club members should have now received information regarding next season which starts at the beginning of September 2022. Membership forms can also be downloaded from the Documents Section in the Formby Junior Sports Club website. Representative Team managers will soon be contacting their squads so that registrations for leagues can be completed by the end of June.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME

New members in all Inter Club age groups from four year olds up to boys in Year 8 in September are very welcome. Parents can download membership forms from the club website.

LATEST NEWS

Next season FJSC will have a Representative team at every age group from Under 6 up to and including Under 13.

If anyone is interested in becoming the manager of the new FJSC Under 6 team ( Year 1 in September ) please contact Club Chairman Frank Rourke at stellathecat4@gmail.com. The boys will play friendly matches on Sunday mornings in the Sefton Development League.

FJSC Under 13’s will be moving up to 11 aside football and are looking to extend the number of boys in both their Saturday and Sunday squads. If interested contact Frank Rourke.

FJSC is pleased to announce the appointments of two new managers for the club’s two new teams . They are Mark Parrish ( FJSC Under 7 White) and Carl Hyslop (FJSC Under 8 Black).

UEFA B Coach Jordan Parker will be back coaching at Inter Club from September.

At the end of next season FJSC will see the return of the Annual Presentation Evening something the club has not been able to organise for the last two years due to Covid.

Club Chairman, Frank Rourke is proud to announce that he has now been involved in the organisation of football at FJSC for both the Representative teams and the Inter Club Section for exactly 50 years.
