Frank Rourke's Report From Formby Junior Sports Club

It was another very enjoyable weekend of football at Formby Junior Sports Club. The picturesque setting at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields of boys actively engaged playing football and honing their football skills on lush grass, against a backcloth of various tones of greenery with clear blue skies overhead and beautiful sunshine could not have been more perfect.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
There were fewer Representative team matches played due to the half term holiday.
One of the best results of the weekend was FJSC Under 13 Blacks 5-3 win against Formby Wanderers in the Craven Minor League
Championship Division. The Under 13’s are currently in third place having won six of their eight matches played so far.
FJSC Under 11’s Sunday team produced a very good team display against Freshfield FC. There were some excellent goals scored. Man of the match Charlie Garvey scored five and his strike partner Dominic Maxwell was also on top form adding another four goals.
The FJSC Under 11 Saturday team came up against a well organised TMS team in the Hightown League and after falling behind in the first half could not find a way back despite a much improved second half performance.
FJSC Under 7 Whites played Southport Trinity. With a number of players on holiday it was always going to be difficult against a strong Trinity team. Clayton Gilbertson and Joshua Halpin defended well and Josh Tallon worked tirelessly throughout. Thomas Crutchley scored the Whites goal.
INTER CLUB SCORERS
Last Saturday’s scorers were - Rory Roberts, Jacob Givin, Jack Hansen, Jack Haggart, Seb Hodgson, Max Byford, Joseph Kenyon, Zac McHugh, Jack Williams, Joshua Halpin, Mason Stringer and Josh Kearney.
