Formby Junior Sports Clubs Inter Club Section took centre stage at the weekend. As the season is gradually coming to an end only one Representative team match was played due to the Easter Holidays.
INTER CLUB FOOTBALL
There was another very good attendance at Inter Club last Saturday despite the holidays.
Scoring the goals in the excellent friendly games which followed the fun coaching sessions were - George Leggett, James Curran, Adam Jadid-Leech, Leo Clarke, Leo McQuire, McEddy Osei Assibey, Vinnie Yearsley, James Witterick, Sammy Porter, Ed Makinson, Lucas Byrne, Charlie Ormesher, Paolo Raffo, Tom Murphy, Chase Lowen, Mason Lambert, Jenson Heron, Evan McKeown, Ethan Murphy, Franek Banas and Luke Greenbank.
Man of the Match in the Year 4/5 age group game was Michael Moses. The Year 7-9 boys had a four-way mini tournament with the final ending in a 2-2 draw between the Reds and Greens.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCH.
FJSC Under 15 Blacks played unbeaten league leaders MSB Woolton in the Tuebrook Junior League on Sunday. With just the bare eleven players and no substitutes the Under 15’s had some good scoring opportunities in the first half. Unfortunately costly mistakes by the Blacks saw the Woolton capitalise with two quick goals scored each side of half time to trail 4 nil. FJSC settled down again and Thomas Prior pulled one goal back in a late revival. Luca Massey and Daniel Hill were joint Players of the Match.
EXCITING CUP AND LEAGUE MATCHES AHEAD
In the Hightown Junior League four teams have cup semi-final matches to play after Easter. They are FJSC’s Under 11 Blacks, Under 12 Blacks, Under 13 Blacks and Under 15 Blacks. In the Spring Premier Leagues both FJSC Under 12 Blacks and FJSC Under 13 Blacks are presently joint top of their respective divisions.
On Sunday 4TH May FJSC Under 12 Blacks and FJSC Under 13 Blacks play their Cup Final matches at Southport FC’s Big Help Stadium (Haig Avenue).
IMPORTANT DATES
There will be no Inter Club football on Easter Saturday 19th April.
No Representative team matches are scheduled to be played during the Easter weekend.
Inter Club resumes on Saturday 26th April at the usual times.
FJSC’s Annual Presentation Evening will be held at the Gild Hall on Church Road, Formby on Friday 9th May for Representative teamsand Inter Club trophy winners at the following times:-
Under 7’s, Under 8’s and Under 9’s from 6.15 to 7pm.
Under 9’s, Under 10’s and Under 11’s from 7.30 to 8.15pm.
Under 12’s, Under 13’s, Under 14’s and Under 15’s from 8.45 to 9.30pm.
The last Inter Club session of the season is on Saturday 10th May which will be followed after each session by a medals presentation for Inter Club members.

POSSIBLE NEW UNDER 9 TEAM TO BE FORMED
FJSC are hoping to form a new FJSC Under 9 team on Sundays for next season ( Year 4 in September). Please contact Frank Rourke at stellathecat4@gmail.com as soon as possible if interested.
GIRLS’ FOOTBALL
There will be free taster sessions on Saturday 26 April for girls in present years 2, 3, 4 and 5, from 11.15 am to 12.15 pm, at Deansgate Lane.

This is for girls who want to give football a try to see if they like it. The hour long session will have a little bit of coaching followed by a fun game.
