Formby Junior Sports Club teams suffered again due to the bad weather- Franks report here…

Formby Junior Sports Club’s two Under 6 teams were once again the only two teams in the entire club to play their games last weekend.  This was because these matches were played on an artificial playing surface and not on grass. Every pitch at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields was waterlogged so there was no Inter Club football on Saturday and no Representative team matches played on Sunday. All away fixtures suffered the same fate.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

On Sunday FJSC Under 6 Blacks played against Marina Sands. It was a close match with FJSC, after a slow start, finishing the game strongly with Ollie Jones scoring a fine hat trick in a very good overall performance which earned him the Referee’s Man of the Match award.   Dylan Woods was the Manager’s Man of the Match for his tackling and effort throughout. Max Healey, Cole Jones, Tayo Popoola and Theo Thomas also played well.

FJSC Under 6 Whites enjoyed a very competitive match with ESC Blue.  The Whites got off to a great start with two goals scored by Noah Ignatowicz which included a wonder strike on the half volley into the top corner of the net from distance.   ESG thensoared into the lead with five goals.  FJSC fought back with goals and nearly won the match only to be denied by two marvellous saves made by the ESG goalkeeper.  Neither team deserved to lose the match and it was fitting that this high tempo and thrilling encounter should end all square at 6-6.   Noah Ignatowicz completed his hat trick.  Arthur Higgins scored twice and Leo Rogers was also on the scoresheet with one goal.  Arthur Parrish and Cormac Nice also made good contributions and Anders Carter did well on his debut.
