Formby Junior Sports Club’s Under 13’s had a double success at the weekend, Franks report here…

Formby Junior Sports Club’s Under 13’s had a double success at the weekend with Saturday and Sunday victories. The Under 10’s lost their cup final match but all the boys enjoyed the day and the cup final experience. There were good results for the Under 11’s, Under 8’s and Under 7’s. In addition the Inter Club Section welcomed a number of boys to the first of the taster sessions on another busy Saturday of football and fun.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 13’s Saturday team played JN Sports in a Hightown Junior League fixture. Berat Ulusoy scored all four of his team’s goals and was the man of the match. The FJSC defence kept JN Sport from scoring andcan be pleased with a clean sheet. It was an impressive team display against strong opposition.
FJSC Under 13’s Sunday team were in action away at Southport Gold. There were seven different FJSC scorers in another win. The scorers were Archie Ogden, Isaac Burns, Callum Gray, Dominic Maxwell, Freddie Garvey, Luca Massey and Thomas Prior. There were some great team and individual goals. Isaac Burns scored his first ever hat trick. Callum Gray also scored three and Archie Ogden was on the scoresheet seven times as well.
FJSC Under 11 Whites faced Southport Athletic Reds and there was a very even start to the first half until Ben Harris went on one of his runs and produced a cracking finish for FJSC’s opening goal after fifteen minutes. Harry Ball had another commanding performance in goal and picked up another assist when he found Ben Harris with a long kick and Ben finished well to make it 2 nil. After some good football, a Ben Harris pass set up Lucas Lewis to score and extend the Under 11’s lead. The FJSC defence had beenfantastic again although a rare slip at the back gave Southport the chance to pull one goalback. A brilliant dribble and cross from RalphRenton found Ben Harris in space in the box and with great confidence the FJSC strikercompleted his first half hat-trick in style.
The second half saw a really controlled performance by the Under 11’s with very few chances being given away. More opportunities to score were created by FJSC but in the end it was left to Lucas Lewis to score the fifth goal for his team with a brilliant long range freekick. It was another great all round team performance.
FJSC Under 10 Whites played in their first ever Craven Minor League Cup Final at Abbey Lane in Burscough. The match was against Redgate Rovers Yellow. FJSC started brightly and had the better of the opening exchanges. Archie Weir had a long range effort which went over the bar and a NateDaniels effort hit the Redgate crossbar from distance. A goal for Redgate against the run of play seemed to knock the confidence of the team and by half time two more goals had been conceded. The Whites continued to play well and battle hard in the second half and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. A very good Redgate team ran out deserved winners scoring three more goals without reply. The FJSC Whites squad are to be congratulated on a very good effort. The boys enjoyed the day and will hopefully learn from the experience and will want to go one better next time.
FJSC Under 8’ Whites produced another goodteam performance against a good Crosby Stuart team. James Smith grabbed the firstgoal with a great header from a corner and it was not too long before Seb Hodgson turned goal poacher with an instinctive finish. Jack Haggert produced a sublime finish into the top corner to wrap up a solid first half. As the second half got underway Henry Williamson was a threat with his pace and latched onto athrough ball to score with a classy finish. The final goal was added late on by Isaac Higgins.
FJSC Under 7 Whites were away at Southport Athletic . The team got off to a brilliant startand after a well worked corner routine Joshua Gillespie scored with a long range shot. FJSCcontinued their great pressing high up the pitch and the ball fell to Otto Johnson inside the area where Otto chipped it over the keeper into the goal. The Whites added to their lead before Southport Athletic deservedly got back into the game scoring three times to level. The FJSC boys continued to work hard and went two goals ahead before half time whenCharlie Ormesher scored two goals in quick succession.
Formby started the second half brilliantly with Charlie Ormesher adding to his goal tally. The game continued with more goals from FJSCwith Jack Brown scoring the next five goals. Charles Fazakerley had another brilliant game in goal and his distribution from his goal kicks led to a few of the goals. Austin Faraday worked very hard on the left wing playing some great passes into the box. The team were excellent and continued to work hard until the final whistle. FJSC Under 7’s are now unbeaten in the last six matches.
