Formby is home to a lot of amazing wildlife and sometimes we are lucky to catch a glimpse of beautiful deer in the wild.
When Paul was out walking in Formby this morning he spotted two Roe Deer. Two photos below credited to Paul Burke.
Paul said: “This morning on our walk at Formby, we spotted two almost back Roe Deer, they were actually on the golf course heading towards the pinewoods, may need to zoom in on my pic to see them!”
Back in August 2015, Sue and Mal Robertson with their Grandson Adam went for a walk down to Formby beach, they couldn't believe their eyes when they spotted a deer stood right in front of them on the sand.
As they took a couple of photos, it was just to the side of them before running away.
Both photos are credited to Sue & Mal Robertson (above and below).
Sue said: "We couldn't believe our eyes, spotted this deer on the beach. We walked down Blundell Avenue to the beach and the deer was just at the side of us!".
What a lovely experience for all of them.
The only place in Formby that has deer, is the idyllic Formby Golf Club which is set apart from others because of the scenic heathlands and parklands which cover a mass of over 400 plus acres with towering pine trees lining the fairways and heather encompassing the beautiful landscape.
The golf club is a Links course which means it joins the beach. Formby Golf Club hosts two Championship Golf Courses - Formby Ladies Golf Club which is completely surrounded by Formby Golf Club. Between them, the two courses are home to rare animals like the Red Squirrel, Natterjack Toads and Sand Lizards but, there are also plenty of deer roaming around the acreage which are an absolute pleasure to see.
Have you caught any wild animals on camera at Formby Beach or in the Pinewoods. If you have, we would love to see the photos. Just send them to info@formbybubble.com
