Formby couple’s spectacular ball raises £31,000 for Rainbow Hub

Formby couple, Lisa and Paul Maddison, held their annual ball and raised the fantastic sum of £31,000 for Rainbow Hub, the charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities where their daughter, Katie (16) has attended conductive education for the past 14 years.

Held at the Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa and sponsored by Future Meds clinical trialscompany, this year’s exciting Moulin Rouge themed event was held on 10th September.

The 250 guests had a fabulous evening with entertainment from The Wicker Men, araffle and one lucky guest winning a pair of one carat diamond earrings donated by HSBC.

But the highlight of the evening was a captivating dance routine performed by The Lady Marmalade’s - 12 brave guests without formal dance experience. Their routine was

specifically created for the event by talented choreographer, Emma Lippitt.

In addition to the generous corporate sponsorship of Future Meds, the event was supported by including McG Consultancy Services, Dog Leads, Edmund Bell, Avient, Normac Shipping, Make Noise, Last Act, Ludlow, World Class Travelling, Graham’s Ground Services, Stephanie MacNab Estate Agents, Ewemove and Village Vets. Flower arrangements were donated by Flowerstyle by Laurie and HSBC also supportedthe event through match funding and prize donations.

Lisa Maddison said, “'We are absolutely delighted with the evening's success in terms of the funds raised and the fun had by all our guests. The annual ball is a great team effort involving many people and we are truly grateful for the support of FutureMeds, HSBC, all our table sponsors, prize donors, the wonderful Lady Marmalades dance group and specifically Claire Lippitt, Michele McWha and Annette Mullane. The funds raised on the night will directly benefit the many children and young adults affected by neurological disabilities, supporting them to achieve their full potential at Rainbow Hub.”

Paul Chambers, Director of FutureMeds, said:“We were delighted to be able to support Lisa, Paul, and the team at Rainbow Hub by sponsoring the Moulin Rouge Ball. A great time was had by all and to raise £31,000 for the charity is a wonderful achievement. Having recently opened a dedicated research centre in Bromborough, it represented a fantastic opportunity for us to support a local charity who offer such a valuable service to children with disabilities.”
