FCFC Weekly Roundup – Braving the Cold and Having Fun! 🧡🖤It was great to see so many familiar faces, both old and new, out in the cold this weekend at our Little Lions and Lionesses sessions. While the weather has kept us from some games, we’re excited to move into better conditions and hopefully see plenty more fantastic football!
Team News
FCFC U6'sBIG WEEKEND FOR FCFC U6! 🍊 Our U6 team made an unforgettable debut in the Hightown League against Forefield Rangers with a brilliant victory! From start to finish, the kids were on fire, with nearly every player getting on the scoresheet. There were some excellent passing moves and well-taken goals that had the sidelines buzzing. A fantastic start to their time with Hightown! Later, in the Sefton JFL, the team dug deep with only 5 players available, emerging victorious against Silcox. Noah kicked things off with a cracking strike, Leo W kept running non-stop, and the defensive duo of AJ and Jamie were key in keeping the game close. A stunning volley from Leo L sealed the win in the final minutes! What a weekend! 🤙🧡🖤
FCFC Boys U7 FalconsA tough match for the Falcons against Kingsway. Despite some brilliant defending and great passing, they were unfortunate to lose after an own goal. But the boys played absolutely brilliantly! 💪
FCFC U8 GirlsThe U8 Foxes girls played a doubleheader against Southport Trinity. A win in the first game and a loss in the second, but the girls are improving every week, and their performances are getting stronger and stronger!
FCFC U9 Lion Boys v Altown UnitedAnother excellent performance from the U9 Lion Boys! Despite playing into a low sun in the first half, they didn’t panic, played their passing game, and scored an equaliser. The second half was all Lions, creating a number of chances and bagging a few goals! Great job, Lions! 🦁
FCFC U9 Tiger Girls v RemycaUp against the league leaders, the Tigers matched them all over the pitch in the first half. Despite going down 1-0, they could have easily been ahead! After some changes, Remycapulled away, but our Tigers kept their heads high and never stopped fighting. Special shout-out to the new goalkeeper, who usually plays defence—her performance was outstanding, earning her the GOTM trophy! 🐯⚽
FCFC U10 Fire BoysShoutout to our sponsors, Tower Heating & Formby GP! Despite a few player changes over the summer, the Fire Boys are coming together as a solid team. Only two losses so far this season, +40 goal difference, and they recently finished runners-up in the Hightown competition out of 20 teams! Impressive stuff!
FCFC U10 Rocket Boys v Marina Sands WhitesA match against a newer team at the bottom of the league, but some excellent passing play and solid defence. Albie, Matthew, and Charlie G were standouts in defence. A great chance for the boys to play freely and take shots from all angles!
FCFC U10 Panther GirlsOur U10 Panthers have now split into two teams: the Orange Panthers and Black Panthers, giving our girls more playing time. This week, the Black Panthers kicked off their cup competition with a fantastic win. Despite a delayed kick-off and only 7 players, the girls played with growing confidence and put on some lovely football. Next week, Hightown will feel the full force of both Panthers teams! ⚡
FCFC U11 Raiders v Southport Trinity BlueThe Raiders secured a deserved win, dominating possession and showing intent in their passing. Despite the opposition’s fantastic goalkeeper, the girls put together some beautiful team plays. Well done, Raiders! ⚽
FCFC U11 Rapid Girls v Rainford InterThe Rapids faced tough winds and an early deficit, but they fought hard in the second half with some great chances. Despite a late goal from Rainford, Millie’s through ball and Mia’s finish were highlights. Bring on the cup competitions! ⚡
FCFC U12 GirlsAn incredible last-minute winner sealed a 3-2 victory against Crosby S, with a comeback from 0-2 down! What a finish!
FCFC U13 OrangesA bright start against Berkley Lobster, going 1-0 up early, but a few lapses in the second half saw them lose 5-2. A fantastic team goal late on was a highlight. Beau was named POTM for his energy and leadership! On to the next one, Oranges!
FCFC U13 PurplesThe Purples fought hard against FCN Rossos, but couldn’t recover from a slow first half. A much better second half, but it wasn’t enough to claw back the score. A solid performance despite the loss—onward, Purples!
FCFC U13 GirlsThe girls played brilliantly against the winners of the Winter League, Crosby Stuart, taking the lead and hitting the post twice. But Crosby made the most of their chances, winning 3-1. We’re still looking for a goalkeeper—please contact Andrew at 07901 747340 for details.
FCFC U14 Boys 1 v 11 Kirby Park RangersA tough game for the U14s who didn’t show up, making costly mistakes. Not the performance we hoped for, but we’ll bounce back!
FCFC Barca Boys U14’s 2 v 2 River JuniorsA great result for the U14 Barca Boys, drawing 2-2 against a team that had previously beaten them badly. That’s the spirit! #unbeatenin2025 💪
FCFC U14 Boys 6 v 0 ForefieldA slow start, but once we got going, we dominated. Should’ve scored more, but a solid 6-0 victory was a great result.
FCFC U14 Galaxy GirlsA hard-fought 0-0 draw with Remyca after a first half where the Galaxy were the stronger side. A scrappy second half saw neither team able to break the deadlock, but the girls showed great resilience.
FCFC U16 BoysLooking for players to join a fantastic group! If you're interested, please contact Mike at 07770 454545 for more details.
FCFC U18 BoysA friendly against Redgate U17s after no County Cup fixture. After a back-and-forth game, a couple of quick goals in the second half sealed the win. A great run-out and a nice way to stay sharp!
