REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 12 Blacks completed their Craven Minor League Premier Division fixtures on Sunday with a 6-1 win over Marina Sands on a sunny Deansgate Lane Playing Field.
FJSC started strongly and soon gained control of the game with Charlie Richardson taking an early chance to make it 1 nil. Caden Walker then soon followed up with a neat finish from the edge of the box to double the lead. Charlie Richardson then grabbed another to make it 3-0 at half time.
FJSC then had a lapse of concentration and gave Marina Sands a chance which they took to make it 3-1 but it was a blip in a really good performance. Charlie Richardson then added another two goals to take his tally for the game to four before a good finish from Finley Scott rounded the game off for a 6-1 victory.
FJSC Under 12 Blacks have played very well all season and out of 16 games they won 13 while drawing 1 and losing 2 which saw them just pipped to the title. The boys could not have done more and to finish as comfortable runner up in the league is an absolute credit to the hard work they have put in each week whilst also taking part in the Hightown Junior League on Saturdays.
The boys have one very important game left now, which is the Cup Final at Haig Avenue, the home ground of Southport FC’s ground on Sunday 4th May. See team photograph above.
FJSC Under 12 Blacks Saturday team came into their match against Redgate Rovers on the back of two draws knowing that a win would greatly boost their chances of winning the Hightown Premier Spring League. Redgate came with a resolute defence trying to hit FJSC on the break and it was one of these breaks that caught FJSC out when a penalty was awarded. The penalty was dispatched and FJSC found themselves 1 nil down with all the work to do. The boys stuck to their task and a good through ball to Isaac Jones saw a good save made by the Redgate keeper only for the ball to be deflected onto the Redgate defender and into the back of the net to level the score.
FJSC pushed on in the second half looking for the winner. Redgate held firm. As such the game finished 1-1 and FJSC will have it all to do in the final game against Hillside to ensure they give themselves a chance to win the title.
FJSC Under 13 Whites once again produced another excellent performance this time against TQ Roma. Luke Greenbank grabbed the first goal with a great run and finish. Twogreat crosses from Ben Gregory were headed home. The first by Patrick Bodziany and the second headed goal from Evan McKeowngave the Whites the lead. Ben Gregory thencompleted the scoring with a cool penalty in the last minute to give the Whites a 4-2 win.
The team were defensively solid and going forward created many chances which made this fine win possible. FJSC Whites captain Finley Heywood was outstanding at centre back yet again and was the team’s Man of the Match.
FJSC Under 15 Blacks Saturday team went two goals ahead against Fazakerley Rangers with both goals being scored by Man of the Match Taj-Deen Abdulai. Fazakerley levelled the score with two quick goals. This quick turn around lifted the opposition who went on to win the match with three more goals in the last few minutes.
FJSC Under 15 Blacks Sunday team drew 2-2 with River Juniors. Cole Heron and Charlie Garvey scored.
FJSC Under 12 Whites hosted Churchtown Jaguars in their final game of the season. It was a glorious summer’s day at Deansgate and the game didn’t disappoint. It was the third time the teams had played in the space of a few months and they were well matched. Jags opened the scoring with a lovely curling shot from outside the box to take an early lead. They quickly added two more as FJSC struggled to come to terms with their attacking threat.
FJSC, in keeping with their attitude this season, didn’t let heads drop and came roaring back with an excellent goal from man of the match Nik Kostakis before Nik added a second from the penalty spot to make it 3-2. Jags scored next just before half time to make it 4-2 at the break.
The second half was equally entertaining. FJSC were kept in the game at times with heroics from goalkeeper Harry Jones and some great last ditch defending from GregoryHoughton. It was FJSC who had the better of the second half and got a deserved third goal when Matthew Crutchley’s through ball was latched onto by Albie Salters who calmly slotted home. FJSC pushed for an equaliser and a long kick from Harry Jones which bounced over the keeper nearly gave them a deserved point only for the keeper to scramble back and make a great save. It finished 4-3 toChurchtown Jaguars in a great game.
FJSC Under 11 Blacks Saturday team played Muniflex Villa and had a good win with goals from James Coulton, Joseph Kenyon, Leo Ball and Leo Judge.
FJSC Under 11 Reds were in action against Southport FC. With a handful of players unavailable and two carrying injuries this was always going to be a tough game. FJSC started well but struggled to contain the Southport attack and were quickly two goals down. Strong wing-play from Mason Todd and Isaac Pepper helped create a few chances but no breakthrough was made. Shortly after Mason Todd was brought down for a penalty which was rocketed into the roof of the net by James Hannan. This gave the boys a temporary lift into half time but this was short lived as the second half saw tiredness set in and the Redsconceded further goals with no reply. There were moments of quality from Haden Radcliffe and Isaac Pepper alongside Campbell Woodcock and non-stop work rate from Mason Todd but the opponents were just too good on this occasion.
FJSC Under 10 Blacks lined up against Southport Town for their closing game of the season. The match was end to end from the opening whistle with both teams having chances before Ashley Jones score with an excellent free kick to open the scoring before half time. Idris Jones made it 2 nil and FJSC then dominated the second half with Ashley Jones scoring the Black’s third goal with a great header from a free kick delivery from Idris Jones. Finally Ashley Jones produced anassist for Ethan Catleugh to score with a lovely left footed strike to complete the scoring.
FJSC Under 10 Blacks have had an excellent season but they saved the best till last. The passing, and beautiful 1-2s from the whole team from start to finish gave them a much deserved win. It was difficult to choose just one Man of the Match, but it deservedly went to Ashley Jones for his overall performance all over the pitch, as well as scoring two goals and making an assist.
The boys have enjoyed a fantastic season. They proved to be one of the best teams in the Under 10 age group, were cup runners-up as well and are already looking forward to next season.
FJSC Under 10 Gold had a thrilling encounter against Southport and Ainsdale Amateurs Blues. FJSC U10 Gold delivered perhaps their finest performance of the season, showcasing exceptional positional awareness and teamwork throughout the match. The team's defensive discipline was evident in their consistent tracking back, whilst their build-up play was highlighted by excellent passing from defence through midfield. Players regularly demonstrated confidence on the ball, successfully taking on and beating opposition defenders with driving runs.
This cohesive play was perfectly illustrated by the spectacular opening goal: a well-executed pass from defence to the wing set up a wonderful assist, allowing Paolo Raffo to finish with an impressive volley.
S. and A. equalised with an excellent finish of their own but the Gold squad maintained their composure in a tightly contested match. Another moment of individual brilliance from Mason Davies gave FJSC the lead once again. The team appeared to be heading for a well-deserved victory until Southport and Ainsdale struck with a quality goal in the final moments of the match.
Throughout the contest, FJSC U10 Gold demonstrated remarkable resilience and an organised attacking mentality built on solid tackling. Tom Carroll was named Player of the Match, epitomising all the great elements of the team's performance with his contribution to both defence and attack.
FJSC Under 6 Whites had another entertaining game in the Sefton Development League against a well organised team in Clay Brow Bilboa. The eleven goal action packed encounter started with a goal for FJSC with Leo McGuire finishing nicely following a pass from Toby Woodcock. Clay Brow fought back with a couple of goals only for Formby’s Kayden Dowdell to level things, with Leo McGuire once again involved. Clay Brow scored again and led 3-2 into half time.
FJSC kept their heads up despite further goals from Clay Brow. In a passionate game both teams tackled well with superb defensive work from William Laughly and Teddy Gillingham. There was also an excellent debut from Shayan Naraghi who tore through Clay Brow midfield on numerous occasions. FJSC bagged a couple more goals including one from McEddy Osei Assibey and were unlucky with a number of finishes which may have changed the result. The attitude and work rate from the Under 6 team goes from strength to strength which bodes well for the future.
