Community Hero Matthew Sumner Raises Funds for Lifesaving Defibrillators in Formby
Thanks to the dedication of local resident Matthew Sumner and the incredible generosity of businesses and individuals, a new public access defibrillator has now been installed on Stephenson Way, #Formby Business Park, between Custom Acrylics Ltd and Pro-Fix Car Body Repairs. This vital piece of life-saving equipment is now fully registered on the national defibrillator network, meaning that in an emergency, calling 999 will provide access to the defibrillator’s code.
But Matthew isn’t stopping there. His goal is to install two more defibrillators—one in Ainsdale on Liverpool Road, at the Spar and chemist, and another at Formby Health Rooms on Liverpool Road in Formby, next to Bargain Booze, to provide even greater coverage for the community. With sudden cardiac arrests striking without warning, having defibrillators in easily accessible locations can mean the difference between life and death.
