Come and help to fill 1,000 Christmas Shoeboxes this Saturday in Formby for children in Ukraine
It's the Formby Shoebox Express Bazaar at Formby Methodist Church on Elbow Lane, 10am to 4pm. Fun for all the family, with free refreshments and bacon rolls all day. If you would like to, make a shoebox-sized parcel of love and practical assistance for a displaced child in Ukraine (and the neighbouring countries). Show you care and get into the Christmas spirit.
We started small, over ten years ago, and have grown to produce over 1000 Christmas shoeboxes a year. That's a lot of gift-wrap and a lot of glue! Shoebox Express is a registered charity and we aim to eliminate as many barriers to participation in Christmas shoebox schemes as possible. We shop all through the year, both retail and wholesale, to purchase items when they are at their cheapest rather than in the weeks leading up to Christmas when they are most expensive. We buy only items that are suitable and then bring everything together in one place to deliver a one-stop-shop for all your Christmas shoebox needs.
Never underestimate the power of a Christmas shoebox. We are aware of one individual for whom the receipt of a Christmas shoebox as a child was "the single most significant moment" of her life. More significant than getting married or having children. Amazing!
If you’re short on time, we also offer ready-filled shoeboxes at a very small price each. These contain a full selection of items from all the recommended categories, wrapped in Christmas paper and appropriately labelled.
We hope you will join us for what can be a heart-warming experience! If you have children, or grandchildren, please bring them with you. After all, what could be better than seeing our children get involved in the giving as well as the receiving this Christmas?
