Celebrating a Decade of Community Service as The Bubble Platforms Reach a Milestone

Today marks a remarkable milestone for the Bubble platforms—ten years of serving and strengthening the communities of Formby, Crosby, Sefton, Southport, Ainsdale, Maghull, Litherland, and Bootle.

Since their inception, these community-driven platforms have gone above and beyond to become more than just a source of news and information. They have become the heartbeat of local areas, playing a vital role in bringing people together, reuniting lost items, and offering invaluable support to residents in need.

Over the past decade, the Bubble platforms have made an extraordinary impact:

- Over 4,000 keys or key fobs have been found and returned to their rightful owners.

- Over 2,000 driving licenses and bus passes have been reunited with relieved residents.

- A staggering 4,000 bank cards have been found and handed back, preventing potential financial loss and ensuring peace of mind.

- Over 3,000 dogs and over 2,000 cats have been reunited with their families, bringing joy to countless pet owners. Alongside these, 14 rabbits, 9 snakes, 4 ferrets, 6 tortoises and even a tarantula spider have been safely returned home along with many other family pets.

- The platforms have also facilitated the return of larger animals, including horses, chickens, and various birds.

But it’s not just pets and personal items that have benefited from the Bubble networks. They’ve also played a pivotal role in supporting the wider community:

- Hundreds of charity events have been advertised through the platforms, helping to raise thousands of pounds for good causes.

- Hundreds of business start-ups have been given a leg up, gaining visibility and traction thanks to exposure on the platforms.

- Wheelchairs and crutches have been borrowed and returned, providing essential mobility aids for those in urgent need.

In terms of lost and found items, the figures speak for themselves:

- Over 750 phones, over 600 bikes, over 500 items of jewellery, hundreds of clothing items (including gloves, hats, and scarves), and even sentimental items like family photos and diaries have been reunited with their owners.

- The platforms have gone as far as reuniting 8 envelopes of money, demonstrating a commitment to honesty and trust.

- Over 1,000 pairs of glasses and a wide array of everyday items like **dog leads, shoes, and gloves have found their way back to the people who lost them.

Incredibly, the platforms have also ensured that hundreds of parcels and letters misdelivered to the wrong houses were redirected to the right addresses, playing a key role in keeping community communication intact.

Moreover, the Bubbles have given over 1,000 items away for free, helping those who needed a helping hand.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our volunteers. These selfless individuals work long hours, giving their time, energy, and commitment to serve their communities. Their behind-the-scenes efforts are the backbone of what makes the Bubble platforms thrive, and their contributions have been instrumental in making such a meaningful difference.

As we celebrate this decade-long journey, it is not only a reflection of what the Bubble platforms have achieved but a tribute to the volunteers who have made it all possible. Their generosity, compassion, and community spirit exemplify what it truly means to serve others.

This milestone is a testament to the power of collective effort and community spirit. The Bubble platforms have evolved to become trusted sources of support, not just for the people of Sefton, but for their pets, their businesses, and their daily lives. As we look ahead to the future, the Bubble platforms remain steadfast in their commitment to continue serving as a beacon of goodwill and local solidarity for many years to come.

We would love to hear how the Bubble has helped you, tell us all about it -

This is a video we did in October 2014 of Formby Village, it's a bit wobbly as drones were not what they are today but still very good. ENJOY...
