Cumfy Bus lose the tender for the Formby Circular as Arriva take over in September

The much loved Formby Cumfy Bus Circular will finish in September. Unfortunately they did not win the tender, it was won by Arriva Busses. Cumfy Busses have been a welcome service for many years in Formby and especially at Christmas when year on year they cheer up passengers with their Christmas decorations.

Councillor Nina Killen said: “The company are able to tender for other contracts but they weren't the winning bidder for the Formby circular tender unfortunately.”

“We'll all be sad to see the Formby Circular Cumfy busses go when the company's tender ends in September. I have been assured that any driver that wants to transfer to Arriva will be able to, so no one will be forced out of a job.”

A spokeswoman from Cumfybus said: “We are sad to say that unfortunately our tender bid was unsuccessful, and the contract will pass to Arriva from 4 September.”

“We would like to thank all Formby residents for their support over the past years, and our drivers, particularly Paul, Gerry, Peter and Tracy who have become part of the community.”

“We are very disappointed to lose this service.”
