Amazing 7 year old cycling for Freshfields!
A wonderful 7 year old girl called Alice Rowe, from Parbold, is cycling 100 laps (33 mile equivalent) of her local park, to raise money for the animals at Freshfields.
She was inspired to do it after learning in school about Sir Tom's fundraising. She looked online and saw what we did and wanted to help us. As we speak she's completed 90 laps and raised £1750 so far. She will very likely complete the task tomorrow!
My colleague spoke to this FANTASTIC young girl yesterday to learn that she has a black eye and grazed chin, knee and ankle after coming over the handlebars of her bike. She is still a little sore but she is right back on it!
No wonder her mum is beaming with pride.
Alice said that when she is tired out and in her cosy bed, warm, safe, fed and loved, she loves knowing that she has just provided the very same things for the cats, dogs, guinea pigs and hedgehogs at our rescue centre by doing this for us.
Everyone at Freshfields thinks Alice is a remarkable young girl and a great example of young people in our community. Her Just Giving page is here at this link if people want to donate a quid or so.
