After an incredible 70 years at their beloved home on Brows Lane, Village Vets Formby is embarking on an exciting new chapter by relocating to 1 Chapel Lane, Formby (the former HSBC building). This move, while marking the end of an era, also symbolises growth, progress, and the commitment to the community that Village Vets has always championed.
Village Vets Formby has been more than just a vet practice. Generations of pet owners have relied on their dedicated care provided by successive owners - who are still the subject of fond reminiscences in the consult rooms - and they are now the only remaining independently-owned vet practice in Formby. The personal touch, and deep connection to the community have set them apart, ensuring that every visit feels like seeing family rather than just a routine check-up.
Being a family run business, Village Vets Formby understands the importance of supporting fellow small businesses within the village. Director, Kate Higgins said: “Relocating to Chapel Lane is not just about expanding our space and upgrading facilities; it’s about wanting to keep our local high street at the centre of the local economy and continuing to foster a strong, interconnected community.”
“Our move to the centre of Formby, forms part of our commitment to the village and its residents, encouraging everyone to shop local and support small enterprises that are the heartbeat of our village. We hope our clients visiting us will also take time to stop for a coffee, shop in or browse some of the other lovely independent businesses on our high street.”
The new site at 1 Chapel Lane promises to bring even more to the table. With upgraded facilities, Village Vets will be able to offer an expanded range of services, ensuring the highest standard of care for pets. State-of-the-art equipment, more spacious consultation rooms, and improved surgical facilities are just a few of the enhancements that will make visits more comfortable for both pets and their owners.
While the move is a significant change, Village Vets Formby is dedicated to preserving the essence of what has made them a cherished part of Formby for the past seven decades. The familiar faces, the compassionate care, the excellent veterinary medicine and the community spirit will all make the transition to Chapel Lane.
