Dougie Knight
Dougie Knight became Formby's community policeman in 1993 and quickly immersed himself in local activities. He organised Formby's Police Centenary Victorian Week, was heavily involved in Formby's 50th Anniversary VE Celebrations, and established Formby's Dickensian Day.
Dougie teamed up with Formbys very own award winning and talented historian, Joan Rimmer to produce a Formby Millenniun book which was completely illustrated by Dougie Knight himself.
This first volume of his collaboration with Joan brings together two unique talents which complement one another in a charming and delightful way.
Dougie also did the illustrations on the video about the Formby shipwreck, The Pegu.

Dougie Knight was also heavily involved in the Formby Police Station Centenary 1894 - 1994. So much so that if it wasn't for him, the centenary would never have happened.
RIP Douglas Knight
