A person has been hit by a train in a tragic Incident on Southport Line

We are saddened to report that, due to a person being struck by a train, services on the Southport line are currently starting and terminating at Formby. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy.

A rail replacement bus service is being arranged to run between Formby and Southport to assist passengers. While we have received information suggesting that the incident may have occurred at Upper Aughton Road level crossing, this detail is yet to be officially confirmed.
