Baking Club at Formby Manor
Formby Manor’s Baking Club took place again this week, with the ever growing group of amateur bakers requesting to whip up some fresh sultana and cherry scones to enjoy. For 101-year-old resident Frank, it was his first ever batch of scones – and they were delicious!
Despite some initial problems with getting the right consistency (baking is a fine art you know!), the residents had a great deal of fun making the traditional treats and devouring them afterwards with a cup of tea.
Home manager Debby Roose said: “Baking Club is just one of our weekly programme of wellbeing and social activities that are designed around our residents and aimed at reflecting their different interests and abilities. It is always very popular with the residents who enjoy a good ‘bake-off’ and can get quite passionate and competitive about the end results! It’s a win-win for everyone as the delicious treats are shared afterwards.”
Located on Liverpool Road, Formby Manor is a wonderful home-from-home-style care home and a warm and friendly community that is full of fun, life and daily laughter.
