Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report

Formby Junior Sports Club Under 16’s enjoyed an exciting friendly match against Redgate Rovers last Saturday morning. Honours were even in a high scoring 4-4 draw. FJSC had much of the possession in the first half but it was Redgate who took the lead scoring a well-taken goal. Moments later Ben Tomlinson equalised after tenacious midfield play by Callum Davidson. Redgate went ahead again early in the second half only for Andy Kimmance to score to level the match at 2-2. A Callum Davidson corner was headed home by Lucas Gornall to give FJSC the lead. In this end to end thriller Redgate replied with two quick goals to lead 4-3. FJSC were awarded a free kick late on within shooting distance and Andrew Kimmance made no mistake and drilled the ball into the bottom right corner of the Redgate net for a well-deserved 4-4 draw. It was a great match and very good preparation for next weekend’s opening league matches when all FJSC’s teams will be in action in the Craven Minor League. Man of the match was centre back Jack Taylor. Andrew Kimmance also played well throughout and Theo Griggs making his debut impressed at right back. FJSC Under 11’s played a strong Netherton Reds team in the Hightown League. Debutants Berat Ulusoy and Charlie Taylor played well. Netherton scored a few quick first half goals but after the interval FJSC played much better with Archie Ogden scoring. Man of the match was Berat Ulusoy. On Sunday FJSC’s three Under 7 ‘s teams the Whites, the Blacks and the Reds played the three Redgate Rovers Under 7 teams in a friendly round robin competition.
