Formby couple raise over £1200 for charity supporting children with disabilities
Claire and Craig Lippitt have raised over £1200 for Rainbow Hub, the charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities. And there’s a further £500 on the way from Claire’s employers.
The Formby couple, aged 48 and 49 respectively, have completed the equivalent of four marathons during August, keeping going in spite of the very hot weather. Claire’s niece, Katie Maddison, (14) also from Formby, has been attending conductive education at Rainbow Hub, Mawdesley for the past 13 years so it is a charity very close to their hearts.
Claire said, “Rainbow Hub does an amazing job, not just with Katie but with all the children they support. They really do change the lives of the children and their families. We did most of our running on the beach and it was pretty hot early in August but we were determined to keep going. We just want to thank everyone who has supported us.”
Lyndsay Fahey, Interim CEO at Rainbow Hub, said “We are sending a huge well done and an even bigger thank you to Claire and Craig. What an amazing achievement for them both! We are so grateful to them for giving all that time and energy. Not only have they completed their challenge... but they have smashed their fundraising target and raised a fantastic amount.”
