Formby Couple running equivalent of four marathons for children's charity Rainbow Hub
A Formby couple are raising funds for Rainbow Hub, the charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities.
Claire and Craig Lippitt are running the equivalent of four marathons during August. They aim to complete 26 miles each week, running 7 -10 miles every other day – mostly on Formby beach – and have already covered 50 miles and raised nearly £600 so are well on their way.
Claire’s niece, Katie Maddison, (14) also from Formby, has been attending conductive education at Rainbow Hub, Mawdesley since she was 18 months old and has made tremendous progress with their help. The family say that it is a fantastic charity which changes lives.
Claire said, “Rainbow Hub raises all of its own funds and receives no statutory support. We have seen the benefit of the work they do with Katie and other children and just want to help. It’s been pretty hot recently but we are determined to keep going.”
Lyndsay Fahey, Interim CEO at Rainbow Hub, said “We are so grateful to Claire and Craig for taking on this challenge. Without the support of people like them, we would not be able to carrying on providing the life changing services for our children who don’t let disability hold them back.”
