The Red Squirrel pub up for auction
The Red Squirrel pub in the picturesque village of Ince Blundell near Formby will feature among over 100 lots in the next North West Pugh property auction, held at Manchester’s AJ Bell Stadium on 25 February.
The site on Orrell Hill lane, which includes the two-bedroom property, beer garden and 65-70 space car park, covers almost two acres and will be auctioned with a guide price of £275,000.
With dining capacity for approximately 100, the building has potential for a variety of investors and will be sold with its premises licence included.
The former pub was operating under the Ploughman’s Table brand when it closed late last year.
Paul Thompson, managing director of property auction house Pugh, said: “The pub industry has certainly come under pressure from changing leisure habits in recent years. However, these former pub properties offer excellent opportunities for creative redevelopment projects.
“The Red Squirrel is a large venue, with the two-acre site, close to the A565, ideal for residential or commercial projects, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consent. Having the premises license included may also be useful for investors.”
