The search is on to recognise the local heroes with the Pride of Formby Awards
Once again, the search is on to recognise the local heroes who are the backbone of the community.
The Pride of Formby Awards, sponsored by Formby Parish Council cover an array of subjects from schools, sport and the arts to fundraising, charity work and caring. There are also awards for individual courage and for those who go the extra mile in making life better for others. The winners will be announced at a gala night at the Gild Hall, Church Road, Formby on Friday 27 March 2020.
The deadline for nominations from members of the public, have to be in by 12 noon, Monday 24 th February 2020. Entry forms and category details can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/POFA2020 or by collecting a nomination form from Formby Library, Duke Street, Formby.
The continuing success of the awards relies on wide participation, with proposals backed up by full details of those who qualify for nominations. Formby Parish Council chairman Bob McCann said: “This is an opportunity to honour those who enhance community life in so many diverse ways. They do so by touching the lives of others through their conscientious efforts, often on a voluntary basis. They do not seek publicity, so the only way they can be justly recognised is by those who know of their efforts nominating them for recognition. That is why public participation is so important and we are hoping for wide participation once again this year.”
