Formby Hub Christmas Day Meal

The Formby Hub meal for older people on Christmas Day was a great success all round. A traditional meal followed by a singer, quiz and each guest leaving with a bag of goodies.

Catie Page, one of the main organisers, praised and thanked both the regular volunteers and those who helped on the day or with essential preparations in the days before. Catie said “There are always the dependable – and often unsung - volunteers and our thanks go to them, but it was so lovely to see whole families get involved in making the lunch a joy and community event”

The meal was supported by Cassidys, One Stop, Co-operative Funeral Care and The Good Catch. Catie Page added “ It was a great example of what can be achieved when the members of the community work together and gain support of the business community and a local school ” and “ A big thanks goes again to Formby Luncheon Club for making the premises available to the Hub for this event”

Formby Hub will be working throughout the year ahead trying to connect older people with activities and organisations in Formby and Ince Blundell.
