Millie goes home thanks to Freshfields Animal Rescue and your help
Thanks to the publicity that we received, a huge amount of love and interest was extended to Millie. Our local community is truly magnificent and we've been very moved by the support. We are glad to tell you that Millie has now gone to a foster home. She is still not well but is surrounded by the love and care that she has been missing, and has been taken in by 2 lovely people with experience of rescue dogs. Thanks for helping us to achieve this; in the face of the many financial challenges we're facing at the moment, this is a wonderful outcome. Please see below the latest update that we have put out about her including a photo.
"We know so many people have followed Millie's story and staff at the Liverpool centre are thrilled to announce that Millie has gone to her foster home! Long term supporters of the rescue, Brian and Irene, heard about Millie's story and got in touch with us. Brian and Irene have taken on many older dogs from Freshfields over the years and we knew that they would be a perfect match for Millie. Millie now has a safe, quiet home, with a lovely back garden where she can sunbathe and relax, with two amazing people ready to provide her with all the love and affection she had missed out on over the years. We are all so happy that Millie is able to enjoy herself whilst she gets all the medical treatment she needs. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported Millie, whether it was through donations or sharing her story, we have been overwhelmed with your response to our special girl. It is because of the generous donations of the public that we are now able to continue to support Millie's medical costs for the time she has left.
With the help of medication, the fluid has cleared, but sadly after further x-rays, it has been confirmed that Millie does have tumours on her chest. Millie's new family are doing all we can to keep her comfortable and we hope Millie has a wonderful retirement, filled with love and happiness. She could not have found a more perfect home.
