Young Musician competition deadline extended
If you’re a young person who can sing or play a musical instrument why not enter the Southport Young Musician of the Year competition?
Students between the ages of 8 and 18 are eligible to enter this prestigious competition, held at Holy Trinity Church, Southport.
Now in its fifth year and sponsored by Whittakers Schoolwear, the final this year will be attended by Sefton Mayor Cllr June Burns and Southport MP Damien Moore. The winner receives a trophy, £100 and the opportunity to perform in the iconic Holy Trinity Church.
Last year’s winner Victoria Woodier said, “It’s been an excellent experience, it’s given me confidence in performing and a chance to try different types of music.”
You don’t have to live in Southport to enter.

Students between Year 3 through to Year 13/ sixth form may enter the competition - the new deadline is Wednesday 26th June for applications. Heats will be held on Tuesday 2 July from 5.30pm with the final on Friday 5 July at 6.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Southport. It costs £3 to enter.
