Congratulations to FJSC Under 13 Blacks and FJSC Under 12 Valencia who both won for the first time this season.
The boys of FJSC Under 13 Blacks played with a fantastic team spirit away at Southport Trinity Black. It proved to be thrilling end-to-end match. FJSC scored first but were 3-2 down at half time.
In a superb second half display from every member of the team the Under 13’s deservedly went
on to win the match 6-5. Elliot Jones scored four and there was one goal each for Jacob Lewis and Tom McCormack.
Captain Connor Jones led his team very well. FJSC Under 12 Valencia Girls’ in their second season together won their first ever match. It was an equally great team effort as Valencia won 4-1 against Shevington. Kate Jones scored twice and there was also a goal each for Cassidy Villiers- James and Izzy Shaw. Erin Frost nearly made it five with a shot that hit the woodwork. To celebrate all the girls were treated to a milkshake.

GIRLS’ FOOTBALL
This weekend FJSC had all thirteen teams representing the club in local league matches.
It is a wonderful achievement after twenty years of very hard work to achieve a full programme of fixtures from Under 7 to Under 17. Unfortunately this may be the only week this happens at FJSC for some time. We have reached this landmark but unfortunately some of our teams have already announced that they are leaving FJSC at the end of the season to join a new club in the area, which has interrupted our long term plans for further progression. This is unfortunate for the club and an even bigger disappointment for the girls, some of whom have been with FJSC for many years, who will be missing out on a natural progression that FJSC has made possible. No other club on Merseyside can boast such a fixture list as seen below.
This is how the girls’ weekend matches read.
FJSC Under 7 Bobcats v Remyca.
FJSC Under 8 Galaxy v Ormskirk
FJSC Under 10 Tornado v Rainford Rangers
FJSC Under 10 Rockets v Marina Sands
FJSC Under 11 Atletico v Churchtown Athletic
FJSC Under 12 Hotspurs v Hesketh Colts Blue
FJSC Under 12 Valencia v Shevington
FJSC Under 13 Real v Oxton Ladies
FJSC Under 13 Albion v Rainford Rangers
FJSC Under 14 United v Remyca
FJSC Under 15 Jets v Crosby Stuart
FJSC Under 16’s v Ashton Belles
FJSC Under 17’s v Dynamo Rangers
Some parents have said that that the new club in question offers more. Perhaps a re-think is necessary. It is not too late to change your mind.
FJSC would like to remind all parents of present members that their children can, if they wish, be members of two clubs at the same time provided that the clubs are not competing in the same leagues. Also and more important is that there is no reason whatsoever why the girls or boys cannot play Inter Club football on Saturdays at FJSC and play for another club if necessary on a Sunday. We have heard that there are a number of children who think that if they move to another club that they are not allowed to still play Inter Club football on Saturdays. FJSC has and always will welcome any child regardless of their ability to join FJSC and play football at the
club.
INTER CLUB FOOTBALL
FJSC welcomed a number of Pre School boys last Saturday. All the boys enjoyed the session as they tried out some ball skills and then took part in small-sided games as well. In addition the Reception group’s attendance was once again very good indeed. The Year One’s were also busy as well as they are preparing for next season when they will be part of the new FJSC team on a Sunday in addition to Inter Club Saturday football.
The Year Three and Four boys’ groups played some very good football as well. There was also a very entertaining and high scoring Year 6/7/8 boys match. The Year One and Two Girls’ group was well attended. There was another very enjoyable Year 6/7/8 Girls’ competition with the Greens winning the tournament and the other three teams all finishing in joint second position. It is quite remarkable how each week these three age groups have mixed so well, improved their football, made new friends and played in such a happy and sporting way. This is what Inter Club at FJSC is all about.
