New members welcomed to Formby Rotary Club
The Rotary Club of Formby recently welcomed three new members to the Club. Val Hignett, Siddique and Olive Memon were inducted into the Club and welcomed by all Club members. The Club looks forward to these new members sharing in the Clubs activities long into the future.
The Club once again celebrated St Patrick's Day in true Irish style, many guests dressing in green for the occasion. The photograph shows our youngest and oldest members! Baby Grace Hocking was duly decked out in green as was our oldest member on the far right, Alan Deutsch. It was a very successful evening. Guests were served a meal of tasty Irish Stew washed down with a drop of the hard stuff.
Entertainment was provided by Maurice O'Shaunnesey singing a good selection of Irish tunes. The evening concluded with an Irish Quiz and raffle. Next on the Club's agenda was welcoming Rod Jaques from Pinewoods Probus Club, who gave the Club a very interesting and entertaining talk on his working life in Her Majesty's Prison service.
Friday 5 April sees the Club and Formby Squirrels Club welcoming young musicians to Holy Trinity Church Formby to take part in the Club's first Young Muscians Competition. The evening starts at 7.30 and refreshments will be served during the interval. Admission is free but donations to local charities would be welcome. More details of all the Club's activities can be found on out website www.formby.rotary1180.org Contact details can also be found here if you are interested in coming along to a meeting and seeing what the Club has to offer.
