Today we are proudly announcing the formation of a new community football club. Formby Community Football Club (FCFC) is the creation of Formby resident, Tina Hamilton.

Tina and the Committee, have an exciting, broader vision for club that will involve the local community. What can you expect from FCFC ? - An inclusive club for the community - A club that will welcome all ages (young and old) and will have male and female teams - A club that has a long term, sustainable plan and vision - A club that is focused on supporting and bringing together the local community - A club that is made up by people from the community. It will be “OUR” club FCFC is looking to form boys and girl’s representative teams of all age groups for the 19/20 season commencing in September 2019.

Tina Hamilton said: “It’s a great community we all live in, with all the right ingredients for a club like FCFC to work hard to make it even better for the everyone. Working together and in partnership with local businesses we can thrive, and sport can drive positive change for our community. We are thinking much bigger than just football, and this is just the beginning. Although our new club is just being formally established, we have already received lots of positive interest and already have people who are committing time and money to support this exciting community project.

Tina continued by saying:"I am exceptionally lucky to have a supportive and talented Committee behind the club, one of which is Simone Magill, Northern Ireland and Everton Ladies Striker, who is also excited about the possibilities for the Club and the Community. Simone Said “I’m thrilled to be part of such an exciting Project, the club is working in areas I am really passionate about, in terms of doing the right things to grow the game, and can’t wait to get on board”.

Tina’s vision is a club for the community, bringing together different generations whilst promoting well-being for all . FCFC have identified a number of possible locations within Formby for their home pitches and this will be confirmed at a later date. Tina added: “Along with teams, we are looking for all sorts of people from the community to get involved and we would love to hear from you (local businesses, community clubs, tradespeople etc…) as FCFC have ambitious plans to involve the whole community on this exciting, new venture”.
