Unite formby brings home 9 golds
Five Formby youngsters find TaeKwonDo success in this year’s highly competitive ‘Strong as Steel’ competition.
Students from all over the UK participated in this annual event, held in Sheffield on 2nd February 2019. Representing Unite Formby, Gold was won in both the pairs and singles section. A massive well done to Unite Formby’s Benjamin Caig, Erin Bannon, Kieran Owen, Niamh Lawler and Zoe Sixsmith who won gold in this years ‘Strong as Steel’ national competition.
The ‘Pairs Section’ was won by Benjamin and Niamh (U11-K2) and Kieran and Erin (U11-K1). ‘Singles Section' gold was won by Benjamin (U11-K2 Males), Erin (U9-K1 Females), Kieran (U11-K1 Males), Niamh (U9-K2 Females) and Zoe (U14-K1 Females). On the same weekend, our Olivia McGeoch together with the TaeKwonDo GB team, flew to Germany to compete and achieved a new personal best.
We are incredibly proud. TaeKwonDo is a great way for kids to stay fit, develop their confidence and improve their focus. Our family-friendly club strives to help all our youngsters to succeed through good sportsmanship and respect. Benjamin, Erin, Kieran, Olivia, Niamh and Zoe have shown what can be achieved through hard work and discipline.
