Hightown 'PODS'coffee morning open to all tomorrow

Please come along and support this very worthy cause as we continue to develop the PODS site.
As many of you know, this project is to support our veterans, wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women to aid recuperation and recovery. The PODS are placed on a designated site on Altcar Training Camp, Hightown, called ‘Code’s Retreat’
The building of the decking outside the workshops and the jetty to the River Alt has begun. There has been some planting too.
Enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, bacon bap and/or toasted teacake. Bring some friends for a bit of a chat! Come and have a look at the White Elephant Stall and lovely choice of cards.
We plan to open early 2019 and are so grateful to everyone who has helped make Code’s Retreat a reality.
THANK YOU!!
BACKGROUND ON HOW THE PODS CAME TO HIGHTOWN:
The four PODS, that sleep two persons each, are now in place in a secluded part of the Camp and when the area is completed, hopefully mid next year, injured and wounded Military will be able to spend some time there back in an enviroment that they had been used to, and mix and talk to serving troops and ' feel at home again ' and this will assist their rehab.
Special thanks to mention a few who have donated free are local people who have held coffee mornings and bring and buy sales, Total Timber, Spotmix Concrete, Pauls Tyres, Regent Coaches, Formby Tool Hire, plus Rotary and Masonic Institutes.
A large container has been donated and this is being turned into a work Shop and fund raising is now continuing to build a shower block and facilities.
For those who served and have suffered terrible injuries in conflicts, the PODS ' dream ' is becoming a reality to support them ....................

PHOTO. The latest donation was from Maghull Carpets and Steve Hunter express thanks to Steve Greaves for putting a Lino Flooring in each of the PODS ....
