Police appeal for information following a Firearms discharge in Formby
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a firearms discharge in Formby on Saturday, 10 November 2018. A report was received at about 8pm to a report of damage being caused to an address on Altcar Road by what was believed to be a firework. Officers and Crime Scene investigators attended and established that the damage had in fact been caused by a shotgun. House-to-house inquiries are being carried out in the area. The local community will also see an increase in high visibility patrols. Detective Inspector Gary Stratton, said: “I can confirm that we are investigating a shotgun discharge at a property on Altcar Road, Formby, which we believe occurred around 8pm on Saturday, 10 November. “We are committed to tackling gun crime and will do everything we can to make our streets safer, but we need the community to help us. If you have any information about this incident I would urge you to come forward, we need to find this individual and the firearm, so please do the right thing and get the information to us, either directly or through the independent Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111."
