A 21-year-old detained for a burglary in Formby as part of 'Operation Hunted'

A total of 14 people have been arrested today, Tuesday 24th July, which is day seven of Operation Hunted, taking the total to 256. Those detained today include a 21-year-old man from Liverpool wanted for a burglary in Formby which occurred in June 2018. The weekend also saw officers arrest 35-year-old Samuel Walker, who was wanted on court warrant for failing to appear for a driving offence in Cheshire. ‘Operation Hunted’, is now in its second week and the force is continuing to put the pressure on named offenders on Merseyside wanted for various offences, including those who may have been involved in serious crimes, are linked evidentially to live investigations, or have breached the terms of their release from prison. You can continue to follow the progress of the operation by using the hashtag #OpHunted on social media and we continue to encourage the public to come forward with information. The operation is force-wide and includes local police officers and PCSOs, detectives, Roads Policing units, specialist search teams, the Cannabis Dismantling Team, and Matrix officers.
