Sign the petition to Save Phillips Lane Clinic in Formby
Formby is set to expand faster than it has since the 1970's due to Sefton Council's push for 1,100 new homes in Formby. Despite this we have seen our health provision stretched to breaking point with the Hightown Doctors Surgery now becoming part of Formby Chapel Lane Practice.
Cllr Maria Bennett said: "Formby cannot afford to lose any more health care provision, losing this vital service will simply put more pressure on an already stretched service, in the face an ageing population in Formby."
"The clinic in Phillips Lane is really important to all ages in Formby but especially the more mature residents who may find it difficult to travel out of Formby for various treatments."
"We are in a position where there are proposals for over 1,000 new homes in Formby which could generate a further 2/3 thousand residents yet we are cutting services provided in Formby."
Chair of Formby Parish Council, Cllr Maria Bennett went on to say: "This clinic is an important and vital service provided to the residents in Formby of which there is nearly 24,000, we need to keep this open. Please share it on facebook, twitter and email, the more people who sign it the more chance we have of keeping it open."

Formby MP Bill Esterson has expressed alarm at the news that services at both Formby and Ainsdale health clinics are "under review".
Lancashire Care NHS Trust confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) that services at the Phillips Lane clinic - and all clinics in Southport - were "under review" after a caller to BBC Merseyside's Roger Phillips radio show revealed that she had been told the clinic was closing in June and that she would have to travel to Ainsdale for treatment.
