Merseyside Police are currently recruiting Special Constables - Special Constables are volunteer Police Officers, who come from all walks of life. They work alongside the regular officers in the local neighbourhood policing teams and play a vital role in supporting the work of the police and the community. After initial training, Special Constables will wear the same uniform and hold the same powers as regular officers.
A Police spokesman said: "Joining the Specials can give you the chance to make a real difference to your community, and enhance your skills. However, this is a demanding role and we ask that you give up 16 hours of your spare time each month."
