Planning application submitted for 10-pump petrol station and drive-thru cafe after demolition of We
A planning application has been submitted to Sefton Council for the demolition of the Weld Blundell Pub on the Formby Bypass and to erect a 10-pump petrol filling station with ancillary retail and drive thru cafe/restaurant along with a new bowling green clubhouse and improvements to the existing bowling green.
The agent name for the planning application is PWA Planning. There are some concerns by local residents that this is already a busy junction and notorious accident spot, as well as a large amount of congestion at peak times throughout the day. There are also already three garages within 5 minutes of this particular spot.
However, others look forward to the convenience of shopping and filling up in one place. Local resident Paul Hannaman said: “That’s the best news we have had in a long time, the Weld Blundell is a waste of space, it's old and this would be great for the Ince Blundell community finally having a shop on our doorstep. I only hope it comes to fruition.”
If you wish to make any comments on this application, you have until the 1st January to do so but please note that the office is closed 22 December to 2 January.
