After almost collectively 130 years of service, four members of Rowlands pharmacy staff from the Formby branch are retiring or moving on by the end of the year.
Janet (almost 40 years service) said: "We all started work for John McDougall and stayed on when Rowlands took over the business. I am moving to the Litherland branch for promotion to train as ACT at the end of the year."
Kay, Hilary and Jane are retiring, although Jane is hoping to continue as a locum pharmacist for a while.Jane said: "We have all been very happy here as the length of service would suggest. I have enjoyed my 33 years as pharmacist and manager and will miss seeing all the regular customers who have supported us over the years. I will miss the camaraderie of the staff too who are like a second family to me."
Kay ( 27 years service ) and Hilary (30 years service) will retire respectively in November and December. Jane finishes at the beginning of October.
Janet, Kay, Hilary and Jane all agree that they will miss their work colleagues and customers and wish them all well for the future. They would like to thank everyone for their support over the years.
