Public meeting TODAY about Taylor Wimpey plans for 286 dwellings at Brackenway - 3pm to 7pm
There are plans to progress an outline planning application by Taylor Wimpey for 286 dwellings at the site which is located on the northern edge of the built up area of Formby and is situated to the north of Brackenway and to the east of the A656 'Formby Bypass'.
There will be a public engagement strategy which is likely to centre on an exhibition event.
Taylor Wimpey are now progressing plans and relevant information ready to submit as part of an outline planning application in October 2017. It is proposed that residential development will be located on the land allocated for housing under policy MN2.12 of the adopted Sefton Local Plan, which indicates the site has an indicative capacity of 286 dwellings. The site to the north of the allocated site, will also be included in the red line boundary to create an overall site area of 21.7 hectares, however this will accommodate areas for ecological enhancements and open space. There will be no residential development proposed on the northern portion of the site.
The proposed residential development is in keeping with the sites allocation in the adopted Local Plan and will contribute to providing much needed family homes in the area.
Prior to the submission of a planning application, Taylor Wimpey are committed to engaging with the local community to find out what residents, Councillor's and other stakeholders would like to see delivered as part of the scheme. As such, it has been arranged to hold a public exhibition event to take place where you can view the plans and provide your feedback.
This will be held on Thursday 7th September 2017 between 3pm and 7pm at the following venue: Warren Farm Equestrian Centre, Southport Old Road, Formby, L37 0AN.
Here is a copy of the leaflet which is being sent to approximately 2,000 residents in the area closest to the proposed application site.
