Happy 100th Birthday to Formby resident Patty Dixon
A very Happy 100th Birthday to Formby resident Patricia Dixon. Patty celebrated her very special birthday last Saturday 26th August with her close family and friends in her Formby home and enjoyed a bright sunshiny day.
Patricia Dixon, nee Bond, has spent her whole life in Formby. She grew up in one of the then cottages in Halsall Lane, just where M&S is now, with her two brothers, Gerard and Bernard and her sister Isabel. Her twin sister Nora Christina died in early childhood.
Patty attended Our Lady of Compassion school followed by Southport Technical College. Before she married and when her children were grown up she worked in various office roles at Woodwards in Formby. (Woodwards was a garage where Formby Tesco is now).
She married Joseph Dixon in 1941 and they had three children, Angela, Francis and Jennifer. They brought their family up in Kent Road in Formby. Sadly, Joe died in 1992 shortly after they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Patty celebrated her 100th birthday with all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends, including her son who returned from Australia especially for the occasion.
Happy 100th Birthday Patricia from everyone in Formby!
