The trouble with rubble
The rubble that appears on the beach at National Trust is from the old car park that was located in this area before the National Trust started to care for this land. As the dunes move inland here at a rate of 3.5m to 4m per year the old car park became buried and over time the left over rubble and debris has become exposed on the beach.
One picture shows Thomas looking at an old Salt cellar that has emerged from one of the caravans from the old caravan park which was also buried and is now appearing on the beach. The Coke can is from the 1980’s.
