The Beer Festival is in full throttle at the Freshfield Pub in Formby

The Freshfield pub in Formby are this week hosting a Beer & Gin Festival showcasing some of the best beers and gins from the local area and around the world.

The Beer & Gin Festival started on Monday July 3rd July and is on till Sunday 9th July at The Freshfield on Massams Lane. The main bar will start with festival ales from Monday with the courtyard bar open from Thursday. Real ales, craft beers and cider - Over 70 Real Ales for you to try along with 30 Gins to choose from with live music thrown in for your entertainment.

Beer lovers can enjoy a range of options from new and established breweries, with local, national and international beers on offer.

Freshfield Manageress Jo said: "It's nearly here, the Beer and Gin Festival starts on the bar on Monday 3rd and then the grand opening of the Courtyard bar on Thursday 6th for our outside experience plus the newly formed Gin Garden and Live music. We will also have Gin and tonic Ice lollies so here's hoping for a heatwave at the Freshfield Festival!"

The Freshfield will have a whole host of live music on over the weekend.
